This Cookie policy explains what cookies and similar technologies (web beacons, local storage, fingerprinting) are used on bindongtech.com, why we use them, and how you can control them. It complements our Privacy policy.

/ Section 01What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device. They allow a site to recognise your browser between requests so it can remember your preferences, keep you signed in, or measure how the site is being used. "Similar technologies" includes local storage (which behaves like a cookie but is stored differently), pixels and web beacons (small image files that fire on page load), and device-fingerprinting (which combines browser signals to identify your device).

/ Section 02Our approach

We try to keep our use of cookies to the minimum needed to operate the site and to understand, in aggregate, how it’s performing. As of the effective date of this policy:

  • We do not use any third-party advertising or retargeting cookies on this site.
  • We do not use any cross-site tracking pixels.
  • Our analytics provider is privacy-friendly and does not set cookies on first-party domains.
  • We do not sell or share personal data collected via cookies with third parties for behavioural advertising.

If we add any cookies that require consent, our consent banner will request it before they are set in jurisdictions where consent is legally required.

/ Section 03Categories we use

We classify the technologies we use into three categories, in line with the ICO and CNIL guidance:

  • Strictly necessary — required for the site to function (e.g. remembering your cookie preferences). Cannot be switched off.
  • Functional — remember preferences such as your selected region or language. Set only with consent in opt-in jurisdictions.
  • Analytics — aggregated and non-identifying measurement of how the site is used, so we can improve it.

/ Section 04Cookies in detail

The following is the complete list of cookies and storage entries set by this site:

NameCategoryPurposeDurationProvider
bdt_consent Strictly necessary Stores your cookie-preference choices so we don’t prompt you on every visit. 12 months Bindongtech (first-party)
bdt_session Strictly necessary Maintains your session for form submission and CSRF protection. Session Bindongtech (first-party)
bdt_region Functional Remembers your region (e.g. EN-US, EN-UK) if you change it from the default. 6 months Bindongtech (first-party)
bdt_theme Functional Remembers preferred colour mode if selected. 6 months Bindongtech (first-party)
(local storage) bdt_visited Analytics Distinguishes new vs. returning visitors for aggregate stats. No cross-site value. 24 months Plausible (server-side hash)

/ Section 05Analytics

We use Plausible Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how the site is being used. Plausible is a privacy-friendly analytics provider that:

  • Does not set persistent cookies on first-party domains.
  • Does not collect any personal data or device fingerprints.
  • Generates a daily-rotating, salted hash of (truncated IP + user-agent) to count unique visitors without identifying anyone.
  • Hosts data in the EU (Frankfurt, Germany).

Because Plausible does not store personal data and does not set tracking cookies, EU and UK guidance generally treats it as exempt from cookie-consent requirements. We still offer an opt-out in our consent banner for users who prefer it.

/ Section 06How to control cookies

From this site

You can change your preferences at any time by opening the consent banner from the footer link "Cookie preferences" or by clearing the bdt_consent cookie. The banner will then re-appear on your next visit.

From your browser

All major browsers let you block or delete cookies from their settings. Useful links:

  • Google Chrome
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Safari (macOS)
  • Microsoft Edge

Disabling cookies may break parts of the site (such as the contact form’s anti-CSRF protection). Strictly-necessary cookies cannot be disabled without disabling the affected functionality.

Global Privacy Control

Where your browser sends a Sec-GPC: 1 header, we honour it as a valid signal to disable non-essential cookies and to opt you out of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal data under the CCPA / CPRA. No further action is needed from you.

/ Section 07Changes to this policy

This policy is reviewed quarterly. If we add a new cookie category, change provider, or alter retention, we update the table above and the "Last updated" date in the page header. Material changes that affect consent are communicated through the consent banner on your next visit.
